The Upcycle Company serves the animal harvest, food production, and further processing industries that generate wastewater high in fats, oils, and proteins.
Operating in The Upcycle Company facilities co-located on our customers’ premises or at regionally deployed processing facilities, our service intakes a plant’s DAF skim and through the advanced, patent-pending, proprietary FOX (Fat and Oil eXtraction) Technology and efficiently separates the oils and protein solids from the stick water, enabling them to be upcycled into valuable co-products for beneficial use, including biofuels, fertilizers, animal feed, and cosmetics. Upcycling immediately benefits ESG and related compliance initiatives of companies generating or handling DAF skim.
We provide a proven, turnkey solution that has upcycled millions of gallons of DAF skim since 2018, substantially reducing or eliminating our customers’ chemical, trucking, disposal, and/or non-compliance costs associated with DAF skim handling without increasing labor and other expenses because of our services-based model.
A world-renowned veterinarian, active cattle rancher, and sustainability-focused entrepreneur, Kirk has been active in water rights and water preservation for most of his life. Among his many accomplishments in these areas prior to founding Upcycle Dynamics, he and his partners built and operated the Danish Flats state-of-the-art production water disposal facility in Cisco, Utah, which was subsequently acquired by Oilfield Water Logistics. Dr. Shiner received both his BS and DVM from Colorado State University.
A versatile leader and successful entrepreneur, Dewey is a proven team builder, strategist, operational leader and complex dealmaker. His professional experience is in the alternative finance sector, as founder and Chief Executive Officer of Luxury Asset Capital, the nation’s leading collateral lender, and prior to that as a private equity firm executive and a private equity analyst at the international law firm Morrison and Foerster. Mr. Burke earned his BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also played basketball for Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams.
A seasoned operations executive and entrepreneur, Justin has an extensive background in sales, business development, strategic operations, and performance-driven management he began his career as part of the Danish Flats Environmental Services executive team, where he supervised the construction of the Danish Flats production water disposal facility. Following that he held executive positions at Westwater Energy and Oilfield Water Logistics, where he was the executive in charge of its Rocky Mountain Region. Mr. Spaeth received his BS from the University of Northern Colorado and his MBA from the University of Denver.
A technology executive with comprehensive knowledge and experience in both facility and corporate safety management and environmental health and safety (EHS), Seth brings a unique perspective to understanding Upcycle Dynamics customer requirements for processing wastewater, environmental safety, risk management and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Upcycle Dynamics, Seth implemented and managed the EHS program for Oilfield Logistics. Mr. Peters received an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety from Charles Stuart University, a BA from Sydney College of Divinity, and BS equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety from Trustforte.
An attorney with broad-based legal, financial, and business management experience, Susan’s wealth of knowledge has been gained as a corporate attorney, bank executive and entrepreneur. Prior to joining Upcycle Dynamics, she was General Counsel for Westwater Energy, and earlier in her career she was of counsel to the Lexington, Kentucky firm of Brown, Todd and Heyburn. Susan is a leading figure in the thoroughbred industry, as an equine banking executive for JPMorgan Chase, Fifth Third and PNC, past President of the Kentucky Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, and co-owner of her own commercial thoroughbred breeding company, Equine Equity Partners. Ms. Bunning received both her BS and JD from the University of Kentucky.
